I've started this thread as a place for parents to write down any tips they've felt have been important for their children and might benefit others.
Here's a very simple one that works for Pat and might help other AHC infants. Quickly inducing sleep is the best preventative to an ongoing hemiplegic attack with Patrick. We us diazepam or midazolam to relax him, and liquid melatonin hormone (thanks Jill!) to help him drift off. I learnt recently that melatonin is also triggered naturally by darkness.
So... make sure the bedroom curtains are thick and make the room really dark, even during the day! Getting Pat to sleep can be a struggle sometimes, but being in a dark room definitely helps him.
